Something wrong with my XP?

oh really now.. too bad my techie moogie isn’t home to help me.

ok, first things first, once in a while, these strange pop ups invade my screen. Yeah, eventhough I use Mozilla. I thought it was from Blogexplosion Rent my Blog site, but nope. Even long after I logged off, it still shows! Grr.. and irritating too..

“Failure to Act now may lead to data loss and corruption” ? OK, I need a logical explanation for this.

Made a screenshot of it… and yep, I don’t wanna go to the sites stated coz I’m afraid they’d invade my pc with virus instead. Yeah, they might be posing to fix a non-existent error lures you to download a virus that will then create more and real problems.

Or maybe I’m just paranoid. My investigative instincts felt like not looking further tho. What if there is a real prob to my pc? Now, think I should update my browsers officially.

Gonna check now. More later..

  1. ok found out i need to get a decent Firewall. But forgot which one is safe.. ahh… it’s no fun surfing the net alone!!! why didn’t i listen before about getting that installed!! i should give space for the download now.

  2. Maybe you can try going to the Control Panel>Services then on Messenger right click hit properties then set Startup type to Manual… maybe that will solve the problem?

  3. I hope nothing serious is happening to your computer. Be safe. Install all the necessary security softwares and be mindful of sites you visit. It’s gonna be too much of a hassle for you if your pc breaks down. God forbid! :D

  4. oh my.. yeah you’re right. pop ups are still showing after making some changes. ahhh.. i need a guide tho.. sniiff.. and more time!
    im off to work btw.. hope all is still ok (or appears to be) when i get back.
