something to be proud of
Last Friday was Irvine’s graduation. Last Friday was Irvine’s graduation. He was awarded “Most Articulate” in class. wow, especially for his age! Yeah.. and a proud mom I am indeed!
That night I wasn’t able to go to work for lack of sleep and my aching tummy hehe.. (really?) Anyway, it was also our monthly “party” too. (See previous post for reference)
Saturday morning. I got an sms from a colleague asking me why I went crazy to not attend last night’s party, adding that I have a “mandatory blow-out” hmm.. Laughing, I sms back asking why. She claims I have an award with an incentive. I didn’t take it seriously, coz I thought it was just a joke.
Saturday evening. No over-time! Woeha!
Monday night, back to work. I was welcomed with smiles and a number of pats on the back for a job well done. So the rumor was true. She shook my hand and congratulated me, adding how proud she was. I looked at the certificate… my name in big bold letters and… the words…
Most Promising Employee
Up until our break times, colleagues from other projects tease me for a blow-out! haaa.. and no need for speeches. I am still at awe.
Well, what can I say? Passion and hard work pays. Not only in the monetary sense, but also the feeling of fulfillment. Remembering the words of someone dear to me *.* … now I must agree.. I should never underestimate myself. Thanks, sweetie! This one’s for you…

It makes me feel alright when I see how they shine
Somehow I always get it wrong
I guess I knew all along
The tide that pulled me is too strong
