This week’s topic at is Aging. Strangely, i seem to have a different interpretation of this word. Aging for me is not only being physically old but how one grows up to be more mature.

There are people who, no matter what their age, seemed to enjoy themselves and act jolly like a child, while others act as if they have the world on their shoulders which make them look older than they really are. Others tho, take things too immaturely while others take things too seriously. This may be the spice in life for them, and not for some.

But its your decision whether or not you remain to be the same old person all these years, or take the plunge.. be crazy and dive into the water like a child! Isn’t it that we only have one life? Would you waste it and wait for nothing when you can instead do something?

Yay! In just less than a week, my HD gained 2 GB of files! how did that… grrr!
Now, with a remaining 5 GB free space, I feel my crawling speed and erm fearing another crash soon! Well, have no fear.. for i know of someone who has less than 1Gig and still up and running! haaa. And he claims his MSN kept on crashing. Now i dont want that to happen ..pff! as if i have time for those hours of IMs this time. After saving up for 2 short comp courses, time to save up for a 120GB SATA Barracuda this time. erm, ok i should satisfy myself with an 80GB Seagate. It’s easier to scratch up some dough for that.

What I am thinking right now (aside from buying a new HD): What should I take first or should I take them at all?

1. Visual Basic Database Programming
2. Flash & Dreamweaver
3. Java & PHP

I have some (read:less than a little.lol!) basic knowledge, but learning them formally (and the certificate and/or liscence is a plus). Besides, the tuition for no.2 is 50% off. Any suggestions? Yeah, i know i need a new HD to have those programs installed in my PC… feel free to leave a comment…

OK, originally the title was a poem i wrote sometime around a decade ago. But, im using the same title now coz that is what i found today. That line.

My high school friends have been buggin me for years to open up a friendster account. I always say I will, but when I get online, there’s just so much to do and go to, that I always forget to open one. So, they all gave me invites. I activated once last year but totally forgot the password and got lazy to update. Maybe I just don’t feel like doing it. And the reason now for finally taking serious to open up and regularly peek into my account was my classmates and Prof at my Tech Training course. so.. so.. just this month i made one (finally) pff!

One strange reason I can’t seem to be convinced, was the thought of having so much details about yourself. And at that, real pictures to go with those details and thoughts. (Yeah, I have “trust” issues) And haaa! I just want to disappear from the real world when im online. Hence, i will not mention my friendster url here (bwahaha!)

But going back to the title above… after approving and getting approved to gain erm only 13 friends.. lol (what a lucky number!) I searched for someone I lost contact with for years… So I entered his whole name, found nothing. I was doubting at first if he will ever open one tho. Still, i tried. I entered his firstname. got 1,000 + results. I thought I wont go thru all those accounts! So i enetered his nickname. Yeah another hundred or so.. “tssk! what the heck!” So i browsed. After 12 pages of viewing and bookmarking 2 that i was doubting if it was him hiding behind fake pictures(just like me), I found him! posting real pictures! WOAH! what a loooong profile! He still likes to write! Yeah, and counting the similar music artists we like.. And as hilarius or even funnier than before! Yeah, those pictures even spoke alot about him. He’s even got a photo blog! har har har… so, dear readers, you still wanna read on huh? intrigued? well, i mentioned earlier that i wont post my url here.

Then, like a stalker that I was, looked at his photoblog, googled him, his workplace, job, then I went back and viewed and read All his Testimonials. Hmm.. funny.. funny.. interesting.. funny again.. oh, very informative.. another funny one… here it is. From one of our common friends. Tssk.. she said he haven’t forgotten me! Oohh… really?! so i was curious now of his lovelife. Has there been another after me? No details pertaining to that tho. Yeah, and there… he’s occupation was a Soul Swirling Somewhere… my poem.

A late post… but this is my second contribution at Illustration Friday for the topic Tranquility and my first contribution using this blog. Please click picture to see full size.. interested parties may view my first tranquility illo at my twisted blog.

Today, i was planning to post about 5 things. Can’t really decide which one to focus on tho. First, my Illo Friday contribution. Second, the CD i bought at a Record Store at Makati which the bagger switched the prices so I’d end up paying for the more expensive one with the price of the cheaper one.

Third, my Quickbooks Seminar last Saturday, which the Admin mistakenly wrote a wrong spelled first name at my precious certificate. And how im getting known to be a collector of computer certificates now.

Fourth, about the SONA and how i live closeby that i think we will be directly involved. Not that i will participate at the protests, but the re-routing may harm our house incase there will be violence. And…

Fifth, today i have spoken with him again.
I promised myself not to speak with him anymore since i read his mean sms. And all i said was for him not to skip meals. Well, ok i also mentioned im at the airport fetching a relative.. ok maybe that ticked him off esp when its only 8am in his side of the world. Oh. maybe the sms woke him and made him cranky!
Ok, but i think IM did the trick again. For the moment i saw his smile.. i melted once more. brrr.. but he was firm about us remaining friends. So i was firm about not talking about the past too. And i dont wanna talk about any future either. Just now, just whats happening and thats it. Promised not to look at his face so i wont smile back. But as usual, our talks went on, we were laughing and talking politics, music, computers and his new CDs (yeah yeah, make me jealous!) and we hardly noticed the time passing again. And so we really have to admit, we are both addicted to each other. If only we dont live so far apart… and we both have better jobs. LOL! Talk about being bum…

Brr.. now i have to go. Needed to finish my Illo. And maybe post separately about the other 4 topics, well just maybe… if i have the time and if i dont feel like sleeping yet.

First off.. a one-liner rant on Yahoo.. I cannot open it after trying a gazillion times! (ok, im exagerating.. but hey! i know i saw a comment by my favorite basher at my former blog. Interesting what weirdo criticism he came up with now. Probably just saying “good riddance!” hmm…)

So, from IE i switched to Maxthon but it hang. then went to Mozilla.. but brr.. now a pop-up says the url cannot be found! waahh!! Now where is that guy who told me about downloading Maxthon?

If that is frustrating, try a crash course on PERL that is usually taken up for one semester (read: half a school year), now zipped to only 30 hours. Now, if that won’t frustrate you, tell me.. and ill rub my elbow to yours maybe the static energy will liven up some blood cells in me.

Anyway, the beauty of it tho, is aside from the international certificate (ehem) after completeing the course, is taking up the next module.. MySQL. erm ok learning about PERL alone is an advantage. Now slashing those in my itenirary and placing a dot.. next step is PHP, Flash and Dreamweaver. Yeah, im a wannabe Webmaster! haaaa… (ok, did anybody got the joke somewhere there? pff… yeah yeah.)

Sssso, what have we taken up today? Let me get my notes. Oh, btw i can’t practice any code now coz i need to have win98 to make PERL run in my PC! woah they need to do something with it being compatible with XP tho.

And that’s a permanent command that links PERL to html. Now, the strange thing is we only knew that today and we have only one meeting left. So, the actual integration of perl to html will come on the next module. erm, only 24 hours to learn that, and SQL and CGI and creating a flat-file database. Well, wish me luck! Maybe after that, i create a new breed of Friendster? LOL!

I’m starting off from where i left. And for those who know me.. welcome to a new phase, a new chapter of my life! And {{hugs}} for visiting this other side. The brighter one. For those doubting, yep, i am Velvet, Velvetmoogie, Atomicvelvetsigh… the twisted one. Now untwisting myself from the ties that kept me floating and dreaming too long. tssk.. were those time wasted? mmm nope. It just adds up to a pile of chapters in my life’s archives.

Picking up some pieces of myself scattered, debugging my PC, reformatting my Life, zipping My Archives. *sighs* Dropping all those pseudonyms and remaining as Velvet. The Soft One. pff… Well, we’ll see. I call myself Velvetzki sometimes too! LOL (now where are those smilies when you need them??)

oh what a rant! and if you think this is one of those “i-hate-my-x-bf-rant-blogs” well better take a second look. this is actually a “kick-those-lazy-stupid-men’s-butt-rant-blog”.. bwahaha!!
